Using the positive and negatives of die cutting with Stitched Leaves

Hello everyone.

I’ve actually got 2 cards to share with you today that I used with pretty much the same products. I used the retiring soon Flowers For Every Season designer series paper (DSP) in 2 designs to create this first card…

I used the Stitched Leaves dies to cut 4 pieces out of the top piece of DSP and layered this over the second design using Stampin’ Dimensionals so there’s a gap between them. I stamped the hello from Love of Leaves with Just Jade ink onto Basic White card and used the smallest leaf die to cut them out 3 times. I also added a bow made with Just Jade ribbon and attached it with mini glue dots. The entire piece was glued onto my usual size of card base.

I then had the 4 die cut leaves left over, along with a piece of the spotty DSP so I used them to create my second card…

The spotty DSP was approx 5.5 cm wide and I trimmed it to 14.5 cm in length to match my Just Jade card base.

I cut a piece of Basic White card to measure 9.5 x 13.5 cm and stamped the first sentiment in the top left corner. I confess that I originally also stamped the second sentiment in the bottom corner straight onto this level and I didn’t spot that I’d smudged the ink until after I’d put the whole card together. To fix this issue I stamped it again onto a scrap of Basic White card and cut it with a die from the Tasteful Labels set.

The 2 larger leaves were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the smaller 2 were glued to the stamped layer. I also added my stamped sentiment label with dimensionals too, with some loops of white twine underneath. Again I added a little bow. I had intended to add some Just Jade enamel dots but realised I didn’t have any left and used the green gems from the Holiday Rhinestones pack instead – necessity really was the mother of invention on this card, lol

I think these work well together and it’s great to feel that you’re using the leftovers from the first card to create an extra card too.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these cards. I’ve listed the products I’ve used for both of them below. You can click on a link to see that item in my online Stampin’ Up! shop.
