Hello and happy weekend!
I’m really hoping to get plenty of crafty time to get creative with my new Designer Series Paper that I bought in the Buy 3 and Get 4 promotion I told you about in my blog on 1st July.
Today’s card uses one of the new stamps from the 2018/2019 Annual catalogue along with a favourite the carried over from the previous catalogue
The new stamp is the Bokeh Dots that gives you lovely textures for your cards. Unfortunately my ink pad was a little bit too juicy so the image isn’t quite as clear as I’d hoped but I still like the effect. I’m told that if you apply ink with a foam brayer then it’s a lot clearer so I’ll try that method next time.
I stamped the Bokeh Dots in Smoky Slate onto Whisper White and then trimmed it, mounted it onto Smokey Slate card and then Basic Gray card.
My card base is Smoky Slate card base measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored at 10.5 cm to form a landscape tent fold. I added a layer of Basic Gray layer measuring 14 x 10 cm and then a Whisper White layer of 13.5 x 9.5 cm.
I added the Bokeh Dots panel and mounts to the base and then stamped the Enjoy your special day! stamp from Dragonfly Dreams in Smoky Slate ink to the bottom right section.
I stamped the detailed Dragonfly fly from the same stamp set onto Whisper White and then cut it using the outline Detailed Dragonfly thinlit. I also used the smaller dragonfly thinlit from the set using White Velum and glued the centre of this onto the stamped one so that the wings stick out and then added to the Bokeh Dots panel.
I like the soft and calm feel I get from this card but I think it would look great with more vibrant colours too.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project. I’ve listed all the products I’ve used below. If you’d like to purchase any of them you can click on them to visit my online Stampin’ Up! store and I’d be honoured to be your nominated demonstrator.
If you have any comments or questions please let me know.
Happy crafting,
