Hello and thanks for popping in.
I purchased the new Happiest of Birthdays stamp set because of the lovely big sentiment that I’ve used for today’s cards. Such large stamps give you a few extra options when inking them up.
For the first card I used my Stampin’ Write markers to add 2 different blues to the stamp…
I created my card base with Whisper White Thick card, added a Night of Navy layer and then a layer of the awesome In Good Taste designer series paper.
I used my Night of Navy marker on the smaller text and a Pacific Point marker to ink the larger parts of the stamp and then added it to Whisper White card. I used my Stamparatus for this step, so that if I missed any parts of the stamp I could go back over it and try again – with no risk that it wouldn’t line up perfectly. I then cut this with the largest Nested Stitched Labels die and added it to my card front. Finally I added a bow with the Night Of Navy ribbon from the Playing With Patterns ribbon combo pack and 3 gems from the Holiday Rhinestones pack.
For my second version I used the Baby Wipe Technique…
This technique is lots of inky fun! You add drops of ink from our refill bottles onto a baby wipe and use this as your new stamp pad. As you can see from my photo I used Flirty Flamingo and Melo Mambo and you get a nice mix of both on the stamped image. Again, I used my Stamparatus to make sure I had all the stamp covered.
I cut the stamped sentiment with a Stitched So Sweetly die. My card base is Whisper White Thick card. I cut a layer of Rococo Rose card that I dry embossed with the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder then added a strip of the In Good Taste designer series paper and then my stamped sentiment. I added some Whisper White Crinkled seam binding ribbon around these layers and tied it in a double knot at the front. I added a second piece and also tied it in a knot too. My card front was now ready to be added to the card base. Finally, I added 3 Champagne Rhinestones in the top right corner.
I hope you’ve enjoyed both of these cards and will try out both techniques too.
