Hello and thanks for joining me.
I like the look of multi layer cards but they can use us quite a lot of my beautiful paper and card and can be rather weighty to post. Here’s my solution…
I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to create my layers from just 1 piece of the gorgeous Garden Lane designer series paper and 1 piece of Old Olive card plus a little bit of Whisper White for the sentiment…
By using dies just 1 size bigger for the card than I used for the Designer Series Paper it gives you the look of matting and layering without using up lots of stock.
I did use Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the sentiment so it still has a bit of height but it just doesn’t have the same weight as a conventional full layered card…
My card base is slightly smaller than normal so that the rectangles are in proportion. I used Whisper White thick card measuring 21 x 14 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm.
I only used the nest of 8 dies from the Stitched Rectangles. These are shown as 2 sets of 4 in the product photo below but in the actual package they were all grouped together. The whole set features a total of 13 dies.
I cut 1 piece of DSP to measure 10 x 14 cm and used the largest Stitched Rectangle first. I skipped the next 2 and used the 4th largest on the centre of the one I’d just cut. Set what’s left of the largest piece to the side. Skip the next 2 dies and use the 7th largest on the centre of the smaller piece.
I cut 1 piece of Old Olive card measuring 9 x 12 cm and used the 3rd largest Stitched Rectangle die first. I then used the 6th largest one on the middle of the one I’d just cut.
I stamped the sentiment ‘You are the best’ from the A Big Thank You stamp set in Old Olive ink onto a scrap of Whisper White card and cut it with the smallest of the set of 8 dies.
For extra decoration I used my Leaf Punch on Mint Macaron and Vellum card twice. I layered the leaves and added them to 2 corners under the raised sentiment. I also added a bow of Mint Macaron twine from the Nature’s Twine set.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this card and the tip for getting more out of your materials.
