Hello and welcome to the February 2024 Project Share Project blog hop. Our fabulous group of four independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators share each others projects every Thursday and also create a new project for a monthly Blog Hop. This month, our theme is Inspired By Nature so I’ve created this Detailed Dogwood card…
I actually had to Google to see what Dogwood looks like in real life. When I did, I found that there are a few varieties. But the stamp looks most like one that has the most beautiful petals that have pink at the base that pales out to white at the tips. So, I used my Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends to replicate that as best I could. The leaves on the sample I found were quite bright and two toned, which again is perfect for Stampin’ Blends as you get both a light and dark pen to play with and blend together.
To make my card, I trimmed the stamped panel to measure 8.5 cm x 9.5 cm. I backed that with a piece of Basic Black card measuring 8.7 cm x 9.7 cm so there’s just a tiny border showing. It needed a litte something else so I stamped the little number label and wrote in a random number with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker. I used the long dotted stamp from Detailed Dogwood to add a little bit of interest to the card base before popping my panel on with dimensionals.
More inspired by nature cards
As I liked making this card so much, I went on to make another similar card with the same stamp set…
Both of these cards are in a similar style to one I made a week or so ago…
So I went back to that set and made another 2 to add to my collection. This time I also used some stamps from Notes of Nature…
Colouring these images was again Inspired By Nature and a Google search!
And because I then had 5 cards, I thought I should round it up to 6 by using some of the smaller images from Notes of Nature…
Now all I need to do is decorate 6 envelopes to match. And then make a box to gift these Inspired By Nature card too – watch this space!!
