Today I’d like to share with you all the Heartfelt Hexagon hugs card, that I created for the latest Creative Colour Challenges…

about my card

I only received the new Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Hexagon bundle a few days ago and I couldn’t wait to play with. This colour challenge was a great way to get started, as it takes away one of the decisions – which colours to use!

This new stamp set has lots of lovely sentiments that fit into the hexagon shape that the punch cuts for you. It also has a couple of border stamps for the punch shape, as well as quite a few little extra images.

I stamped the wider of the 2 border stamps with Wild Wheat ink and stamped the sentiment inside with Night of Navy Ink. Once I punched this image out I decided where I wanted it on my card layer. This gave me a guide to where I should stamp the little flowers and leaves images. I used all 3 of the inks for this process. I also coloured the flowers on the Wild Wheat stems with Light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend.

Finally, I added the sentiment label on to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals…

And the final touch was to add some Wild Wheat dots.

measurements

My card base is Basic White Thick card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. My stamped Basic White layer measures 10 x 14 cm. You’ll also need a piece of Basic White card measuring at least 7 x 6 cm for the hexagon.
