Hello! Yesterday was my wonderful nephew’s 19th birthday. It really doesn’t feel like a whole year since we celebrated his 18th birthday! Last year’s birthday card was a wow one, so I thought I’d go Clean And Simple (CAS) for this one. Here’s my CAS Perennial Postage card…
If you are a regular reader of this blog then you’ll know that I’m totally in love with the whole Perennial Lavender suite. But clearly I couldn’t use the flowers on a 19 year old lad’s birthday card so I’ve only used the Perennial Postage dies from the suite this time.
I normally pair Black with White or Very Vanilla with Night of Navy but I’ve mixed it up and used Basic Black, Very Vanilla, along with some gold. The numbers are cut from Gold Foil sheets with Alphabet A La Mode dies. I stamped the sentiment from Zany Zoo with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with gold powder before cutting with another Perennial Postage die.
There’a s gorgeous little die in the set that doesn’t cut but actually embosses the detail you can see on this close up…
To do this, I die cut both the numbers and the postage pieces and glued them together, then laid this die on top and passed it back through my Cut & Emboss machine. Isn’t it cute?
In case you’re wondering, I added those lines to the background layer with my Simply Scored tool and then flipped the layer, so the lines I scored were now bumps instead of grooves. It’s just a nice little detail that still keeps the card Clean And SImple
I hope you like this CAS Perennial Postage card and will give it a try. It would be lovely for a wedding anniversary as well as birthdays.
