I spent the whole weekend making Christmas cards and gifts, ready for my first Christmas fair of the year this coming Sunday. I kind of feel a little snowflaked out! So, this week’s Creative Colour Challenge was a welcome distraction. I’ve used this week’s colours for this Of Art & Texture card…

about my CARD
The Of Art & Texture stamp set is one of the newest Online Exclusive products and one that I just had to have because I’ve always enjoyed playing with stamps that have textural images. Gorgeous Grunge and Touches of Texture are 2 of my all time favourite stamps and this one is in a similar style.
The Wild Wheat and Crushed Curry gave me the idea for a vintage vibe, but I wasn’t too sure that the Tahitian Tide would work. But I went with it anyway! And I like the end result, what about you?
In addition to using Of Art & Texture, I used the Gorgeously Made stamps and dies. I stamped with all 3 colours onto Very Vanilla card, cut the edge with one of the Gorgeously Made dies then distressed other edges with the blade of my paper snips. I also curled up a corner and added a little rip to distress it even more! Then I added more Wild Wheat ink with a blending brush. I then decide to bring in the text stamp from Gorgeously Made too – the more the merrier!
I cut some Crushed Curry card with one of the large foliage dies and in order to give it more of a vintage vibe, I added some stamping to it and ink blending.
So I could bring in some more Tahitian Tide, I die cut a label from that card colour, along with my sentiment one. I sandwiched the large die cut between the labels and popped the whole thing onto my card with dimensionals…
Obviously the labels had to get the Wild Wheat ink blending treatment too. As did the piece of Very Vanilla card I cut for my insert…
I hope you like my first play with Of Art & Texture with this week’s colours. Why don’t you see what you can make with these colours and join in the fun?
