Go To Greetings lino print card

Hello, I hope you are well.

This is a bit of a late post for me but that’s because I’ve been playing around with a different craft for a wee change. I’ve always wanted to try out lino cutting and printing; so when I was given a gift voucher for a craft shop at Christmas I treated myself to a lino printing starter kit.

I started by drawing the design on a piece of lino with a Sharpie and then the laborious task of carving away the rest of the lino to leave only the image I wanted to ink and print.

My result is far from perfect and I still have a lot to learn but I thought I’d be brave and share the result with you…

Of course I had to combine this new craft with my love of card making! So I printed the design with black paint onto a Basic White card base – while holding my breath!! There’s a bit more ‘noise’ around the edges than I’d like but I decided to enhance that my adding some rhinestones I’d coloured with a Basic Black Stampin’ Blend.

I stamped the sentiment from Go To Greeting with Memento black ink and cut it with one of the Stitched Rectangle dies. I added this to my card over my printed design with dimensionals.

This experience has given me a whole new appreciation for the people that design and make Stampin’ Up! stamps. It really is MUCH easier to buy a gorgeous Cling or Photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up! than it is to make a lino cut. And the results are WAY better too!!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing today’s unusual project.
