Hello, I hope you are well.
Yesterday’s card was nearly all white and I promised I’d be back with some colour soon! Well, thank goodness for Vicky Lou Designs and the weekly Creative Colour Challenges. Here are the colours for this week’s challenge….

I’ll be honest, I was kind of stuck with this colour palette, especially as Mossy Meadow isn’t a colour I use very often. I decided that I’d do a bit of watercolour smooshing with the blue and green for sky and grass and eventually came up with this card…

It sometimes pays to step out of your creative comfort zone for a while, because in the end I really like the contrast between the bright blue and dark green.
My card base is Mossy Meadow card measuring 29 x 10.5 cm, scored and folded at 14.5 cm to create a tent fold. I stamped the seed heads from Garden Wishes around the card with Mossy Meadow ink and I added a piece of Basic White to the inside that measures 10 x 14 cm.
My main panel is Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and I trimmed it down to measure 6.5 x 10.5 cm. I stamped the dandelion image from Garden Wishes with Versamark ink, added white Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it. I then misted the paper with water using a Stampin’ Spritzer.
I added the inks to small clear blocks, added some more water and then smooshed the blocks onto the watercolour paper to transfer the ink. I then splashed some diluted Basic Gray ink on top and stamped the little Hello in the corner.
Once this had dried I mounted it onto a piece of Basic Gray card measuring 7 x 11 cm and then added this to the card with Stampin’ Dimentionals…

I love the way the white really stands out thanks to the emboss resist technique. I hope you like my card too and will be tempted to give this colour challenge a go!
