Hello everyone.
Today I’m taking part in the InspireInk blog hop for October 2021 with my talented team mates. This month I got to pick our theme and chose Winter Birthday. Before I started making my own cards, I used to find it difficult to buy a nice birthday card for November & December birthdays; as all the shops were full of Christmas cards and very few birthday ones. I’m glad I can make my own now and I’m really looking forward to getting lots of extra inspiration from the team now too!
Once you’ve had a look at my project please remember to click on the blue box below to visit the other talented paper crafters taking part, for lots more Winter Birthday inspiration.
I made a slimline card and with the help of the Playful Alphabet dies I’ve got a bit of a pun going on…
“BRRR” is one of my stock phrases in the cold weather, so it seemed appropriate to include it in my card. I cut these letters from some of the Silver Foil Speciality Pack and the rest of them from Basic Gray card. My card base is Basic Gray and measures 21 x 21 cm, scored and folded at 10.5 cm. This will fit into a DL sized envelope.
I added a piece of the Peaceful Place designer series paper that measures 10 x 20.5 cm and then that cute little penguin using the Penguin Builder punch.
Initially I wasn’t going to use the coordinating Penguin Place stamp set so I used a Stampin’ Write marker to add the eyes and chopped a tiny corner off a sheet of Pumpkin Pie card for the beak. Once I’d added him to the card I really though he needed to be a bit more of a party animal so I stamped the balloon from Penguin Place with Pumpkin Pie ink onto Basic White card. You can fussy cut the balloon but luckily I still have the retired balloon punch that fits this perfectly.
Both the penguin and the balloon have been raised up with Stampin’ Dimensionals….
I added a bit of the Simply Elegant trim to the back of the balloon and the penguin and finally a few rhinestones to add to the bling.
Now it’s time to see what everyone else has created. Please click on the button below to see all of the other blogs you can hop around…

I’ve listed the products I used for today’s project below and you can click on any of the links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop. The penguin stamps and punch can be purchased separately but you’ll save 10% if you buy them as a bundle so I’ve shown both options in my product list below.
When you shop with me I will send you a handmade card and gift as a token of my appreciation. Remember to use my current Host Code when your order is under £150 so that I can add an extra free gift into your customer thank you pack for the month.
