Using Sweet Symmetry DSP for a colour challenge

Hello everyone.

Challenges are great for giving your crafting mojo a wee boost, especially ones where the design team give you some inspiration. The Inspire.Create.Challenges are my favourite for that! The current challenge is to use these colours…

Like me, you can check out the design team inspiration by CLICKING HERE and you may notice that I’ve taken my inspiration directly from Denita’s card! Any excuse to use the Sweet Symmetry designer series paper is alright with me…

So that mine wasn’t a direct copy of Denita’s I made my card base 4 inches square. Although I used the same sentiment I changed it up by using the Encircled In Beauty dies.

As my card base is unusual, for me, I didn’t have an envelope to fit so I made one with more of that gorgeous designer series paper.

My envelope uses paper measuring 10″ x 5-1/4″ scored on the short side at 1/2″ and 4-3/4″ then scored on the long side at 4-1/4″ and 8-1/2″. With the 1-1/2″ deep panel of the short side at the top I chopped off the skinny panels at the top and bottom on each side, leaving the middle tab to glue the envelope together. I also chopped the sides of the top panel and added a piece of white card to the front. I also used my Tailored Tag punch to cut a notch in the opening at the back and added some Tear & Tape to the flap…

I hope you’ll check out this fun challenge and try out these colours too.
