When the Petal Palette stamp set was launched along with the beautiful Petal Passion designer series paper I fell head over heels for it. But since the paper was retired in June I’ve neglected the stamps and thinlits. There can be no excuse for this fickle behaviour, lol.
So, once again I’ve dusted off an old favourite to produce a new card…
My card base is Crumb Cake measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded at 10.5 cm to create a landscape tent fold card. I cut a piece of Very Vanilla card measuring 14.5 x 5.5 cm and used one of the Petal Pair embossing folders in my Big Shot to emboss it.
I used the die that I’ve shown in the above photo from the Petals & More twice with Calypso Coral card and then cut each one in half lengthwise to create the looped border to my embossed panel. I also die cut the 2 smaller flowers from the same set with the same card.
I used my Starburst punch with Calypso Coral card and my 2″ circle punch with Very Vanilla card and glued them together.
The bird is also from the Petal Palette stamp set and I used Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla card. I love the watercolour effect you get from this stamp. There’s a matching thinlit in Petals & More to cut him out.
I stamped Congratulations in Calypso Coral ink onto Very Vanilla card and cut this using the label thinlit from the same set. I also cut one from Calypso Coral card and offset it a little bit to give a small border along the top. This just helps it to stand out a bit more against the embossed background.
The circles and sentiment were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the final touch was to add pearls to the centre of the flowers.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card and perhaps I’ve encouraged you to dig out a much loved set and use it again.
I’ve listed all of the products I’ve used in this project below. You can click on any of them to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop and I’d be honoured to be your independent demonstrator. Before you order, please check out my Host Code page if your order is under £150.
