Hello.
There was a hot air balloon festival in Strathaven this weekend and although I didn’t go to it, I did get to view lots of fantastic photos on a forum I’m in and one friend did a Facebook Live from it. Also, did you see Jill’s card (Paper Daisy Crafting) in the InspireINK blog hop on Saturday? She used the Up & Away thinlits dies.
This was just too much inspiration to be ignored! So here’s my card…
I used the same thinlits as Jill but I also used the matching stamp set ‘Lift Me Up’ to stamp the clouds in the background and the sentiment.
My card base Melon Mambo that measures 29 x 10.5 cm, scored at 14.5 cm and folded to create a portrait tent fold card. I added a layer of Gorgeous Grape card measuring 14 x 9 cm.
I cut some Shimmery White card to measure 13.5 x 9.5 cm. I randomly stamped some clouds using Smoky Slate ink.
I die cut the balloon from Shimmery White card and cut the panels for the back of it using Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape card. I glued the panels to the back of the balloon and then added it to my card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the Lift Me Up set and I used Gorgeous Grape ink on Shimmery White card and layered it onto MelonMambo card.
I added a few Glitter Enamel Dots to the card and some rhinestones to the balloon.
I hope I’ve done my inspiration some justice. I’d love to hear your comments below if you have the time.
I’ve listed all of the products I’ve used below. You can click on any of them to visit my online shop and I’d be honoured to be your independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
Happy crafting,
