Hello everyone.
Did you see our Project Share Blog Hop on Saturday where Jill, Verity, Gez and I made black and white projects? If not, you can take a look by clicking here.
If you did see it then you’ll have seen the fabulous origami journal that Gez created. I loved it so much I just needed to make my one for myself! I used the Berry Blessing stamp set and Berry Delightful designer series paper that are FREE with a £90 spend in my Stampin’ Up! shop before 28 February 2021…
I followed Gez’s excellent tutorial that you can find by CLICKING HERE – her video shows every step you’ll need and her blog has all the measurements too. You can also check out her alternative versions too.
The main difference with my version is that I didn’t sew the papers inside; instead I used some bright blue elastic thread to secure them and added some extra bits of ribbon and twine to the ends of the elastic to tie it into a tassel.
I stamped the leaves from the Berry Blessings set with Garden Green ink and the berries and sentiment were stamped with Pacific Point ink. I also added some Wink of Stella to the berries for a bit of shimmer and some of the green rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones pack.
I used the Polka Dot Tulle ribbon on the tag in the front pocket and my tag was punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. I used the crinkled seam binding ribbon on the closure and the tassel. I did have to trim the width of the Tear & Tape to secure this ribbon to the back of the folder.
I really enjoyed making this and I hope you’ll be tempted to give it try too.
I’ve listed the Stampin’ Up! products I used for my version below. When you click on any of these links it will take you directly to that product in my online Stampin’ Up! shop.
Please use the current Host Code if your order is under £150 so that I can add an extra gift to your customer thank you pack for the month you shop. Check out the Host Code page in the main menu for more info.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
