Hello everyone.
After making yesterday’s card with those pretty gold Christmas ornaments on it, I thought I’d make another card with a Christmas decoration on it but super sized it…
I didn’t just go big, I also went bright and bold with the marvellous Magenta Madness from the 2020-2022 In Colors.
I couldn’t decide on which side of the designer series paper to use and asked for some input from our Crafty Scots Corner Facebook Group. There wasn’t a clear winner so I used both!
For both versions I made a card base with Whisper White card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. I added a layer of Magenta Madness card measuring 9.5 x 13.5 cm.
I cut a Whisper White layer to measure 9 x 13 cm and embossed this. I used the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder for one and the Tasteful Textile 3D folder for the second one.
I used one of the Layering Circles dies to cut the designer series paper and stamped the gift bow from the Gift Wrapped stamp set with Magenta Madness ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with the Gift Bow Builder punch. I added a thin strip of Magenta Madness card from the top of the embossed panel to the edge of the circle so that the decoration appears to be hanging from the top. I used my bone folder to gently curl the bow for a little extra dimension.
The sentiment comes from the Banner Year stamp set and again I used Magenta Madness ink on Whisper White card. This strip is 3/4″ wide and the Magenta Madness card strip behind is 1″ wide. I cut the ends of both with the Banners Pick A Punch. I curled these with my bone folder too and popped a Stampin’ Dimensional in the centre and glued each end of the banner to the card.
Finally I added a few of snowflake embellishments.
These could obviously be made with lots of different colours but that Magenta Madness really would make your Christmas Merry and Bright!!
I’ve listed the products I’ve used for these cards below. You can click on any of the links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! store.
Happy crafting,
