Hello & thanks for visiting me.
This month’s theme for the InspireINK blog hop is Weddings, as picked by the lovely Hannah McCurley (StampinByHannah). Now my automatic thought was to create a wedding card, but I’ve done quite a few of them lately and I joined this monthly blog hop to challenge myself. So I decided to do something I have never done before…
A wedding scrapbook page!
To be honest, I’ve never done ANY scrapbook page before this one…
This is a 12×12 inch page. The base is from the beautiful Petal Passion designer series paper, which is sadly retiring soon – get it while you can! I love the distressed monochrome look to this paper but decided it needed a little bit of colour for this project so I used both my light and dark Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends to colour a few of the dots and flowers here and there.
I had already bought the Petal Passion Memories and More cards, with the intention of making quick and easy cards with them. But they are obviously designed to be perfect for scrapbooking and journalling too.
The card that spoke to me most was the quote:
To love & be loved is to feel the sun from both sides
I backed this one with a layer of Powder Pink card.
It made me think of the Sunshine Wishes thinlits, especially the words Love and Sunshine. I cut one of each word in Powder Pink and Whisper White and layered them, with alternate top colours. I die cut one of the hearts from this set in each colour too.
Then I spotted the other card with “You are my sunshine” that just called out for one of our wedding photos.
I chose two other cards to compliment my layout. The floral one was coloured with Stampin’ Blends and I also stamped with ‘Some things are just meant to be – like the two of you together’ in Powder Pink. This is from the Petal Palette set.
I added some extra die cuts from the Petals & More thinlits dies. And some basic black shimmer ribbon to cover the join of the 2 papers and finally I added some Glitter Enamel dots and White Perfect Accents.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my first scrapbook page. I enjoyed creating it. Now I need to make more of an effort to fill my Memories and More album!
Please see what the talented Helen from Slimm and Stylish has created to share with us all by clicking the image below; then keep hopping so you get to see all of the Wedding themed creations.
Until next time, Happy Crafting,
Heather x
