I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person that keeps little bits of pretty papers, am I? Well, if you’re looking for a way to use some up why not try a card like this one…
I made my standard card base from Whisper White Thick card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. I then added lots of strips of the Come Sail Away designer series paper that are all 1 cm wide and range between 9 and 10 cm in length. I added one roughly in the middle of the card base (trying to get it straight!) and then butted the next ones to the top and bottom, until I’d added all 11 strips.
I stamped the lighthouse from the Sailing Home stamp set with Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with a Stitched Nested Label die. I coloured the sea with Balmy Blue ink and an Aqua Painter. I cut a larger Stitched Nested Label from Night of Navy card and added both to the card base.
The sentiment is also from the Sailing Home stamp set and I used Night of Navy ink onto Balmy Blue card and cut it with the Everyday Label punch. I cut another label from Night of Navy card, cut it in half and glued the pieces to the back of the stamped one to extend the ends. I added some Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s twine to the Sail Away Trinket and added the trinket to the sentiment label with a mini glue dot and secured the ends of the twine on the back with tape. I then added the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals…
I think this sentiment is perfect just now, as we all hope that we will see an end to the global Covid 19 pandemic. Please keep yourself safe and well during this stormy time.
