Hello.
As much as I love Christmas crafting it’s nice to do something else every now and again. My lovely sister in law celebrates her birthday at the beginning of December and that gives me an excuse to pause the Christmas crafting to make her a card. This year I also made her this little gift bag…
I started with a piece of Rococo Rose card measuring 3 & 1/2 inches by 11 & 1/2 inches. I scored on the long side at 1 & 1/2 inches, 5 & 1/2 inches, 7 inches and 11 inches. I scored on the short side at 1 & 1/2 inches. Here’s the cutting guide…
I glued the side tab to the back of the first panel and then folded in the bottom tabs to form a tray base for my bag. I then added a piece of Woven Threads designer series paper that measures 6 x 12 inches.
Rather than score the paper I simply started at one of the short sides and fitted it around the base, gently folding at each edge then burnishing afterwards. This gives you a nice snug fit.
Before adding the paper to my base I used my Stitched Rectangle dies to cut handles from Rococo Rose card and also to cut holes for them in my paper…
I actually cut 4 of the handle frames so that I could double them up for added strength. I then used one of the left over smaller rectangles for my gift tag…
The happy birthday and flower stamps come from the Magnolia Blooms stamp set and the gems are from the Noble Peacock rhinestones pack. I loosely plaited 3 strands of Whisper White bakers twine to attach my tag to the handle of the gift bag and then frayed the ends.
As an extra touch I stamped some tissue paper with the happy birthday stamp and Rococo Rose ink.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project. If you have any questions about it please use the comments or contact form to let me know. I’d love to help.
