Capturing Smiles box – The Project Share Blog Hop

April 4, 2026

4 Apr

Hello and welcome to the April 2026 Project Share Project blog hop. Our fabulous little group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators regularly share each others projects and also create a new project for a monthly Blog Hop. Our theme this month is our Favourite Techniques. So I’ve used heat embossing on this Capturing Smiles box…

ABOUT MY PROJECT

I have been heat embossing on projects for more years than I care to think about, but the magic of it simply never fades. And I love watching the reaction when other people see it for the first time too.

Heat embossing onto black card does come with some risks, stray powder is more noticeable and residue from an embossing buddy can leave your card looking grey instead. But I think it’s totally worth the risk, don’t you? And I share my solution to the residue in today’s video.

I used the awesome Capturing Smiles stamps and dies to create the camera body and some extra black card to make a little box between the 2 pieces. The same stamps and dies were also used for this little tag on the back…

And you can fit a lip balm in the box, which I think goes really well with the sentiment on the tag…
