Gears & Textures birthday card

Hello! I hope you are well. It was my wonderful nephew’s 21st birthday the other day so I had to make him a special card. Here’s the Gears & Textures birthday card I created for him…

The card folds flat to measure 5″ x 7″ so you can pop it into an envelope for a card that size; but pops out to be displayed, like this…

And it has a little panel on the back to write a personal message..

ABOUT MY CARD

My card base is Basic Black and I added panels of the fantastic Modern Christmas designer series paper, but obviously chose a design that doesn’t say “Christmas” at all!

All of the die cut decorations were made with the Gears & Textures dies; using Basic Black card or Gold Foil. I really enjoyed the process of layering pieces up, chopping some of the die cuts up and generally playing around to decide what should go where. Although, this probably took me a lot longer than actually making the card base.

The panel on the front of the card was created with one of the Textured Notes dies and Basic White card. Then I added the numbers cut from Gold Foil with the Alphabet A La Mode dies.

I needed to do a bit of masking with stamps from Delightful Wishes to do the heat embossing. I used sections of the “YOU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY” stamp along with the ST at the end of the “YOU ALL THE BEST” stamp. It was a bit of a faff but worth it to get the words I wanted, all in the same font and from just one stamp set.
