Christmas gift card holder & gift box – tutorial

Hello! I hope you are well. Gift card can make gifting at any time of year nice and easy and Christmas is no exception. However, I like to add a little bit extra instead of just a gift card. Often this is just a little sweet treat. So, today I decided to make a combined Christmas gift card holder & box…

Here’s a side view, that hints that it’s not just a standard box…

When you remove the ribbon and lift the tab you will reveal the gift card and tag inside…

And then you can lift the whole lid to reveal the treat inside…

I really hope that mini chocolate bar tastes as sweet as it looks!

Here’s the one I made in today’s video, along with the original, using Garden Green card instead of Soft Sea Foam…

Unfortunately, I forgot to add the Keeping Tabs tag to the gift card part before I added the Christmas Tags & More DSP! But I did use a few extra pieces from the pack to decorate the little tag that goes inside with the gift card…

I also forgot to add the gems and Wink of Stella until after I finished recording my YouTube video – it’s been one of those days! Better late than never though.

MEASUREMENTS

To make the Christmas gift card holder & gift box in today’s video you’ll need the following supplies:

• Garden Green card for the box measuring 11-1/8″ x 3-3/4″
  • score on the long side at 5/8″, 5-1/4″, 5-7/8″ and 10-1/2″
  • score on the short side at 5/8″ from each end (as shown in the video
• Garden Green card for the gift card holder measuring 2-1/2″ x 9-1/2″
  • score on the long side at 1″ and 5-1/4″
• a scrap of Garden Green card to cut with the Keeping Tabs punch
• Christmas Tags & More DSP measuring 2-1/4″ x 4″ for the front of the gift card holder
• ephemera pieces from the DSP pack to decorate
• a tag from the DSP pack plus Soft Sea Foam (or white) card to back it
• ribbon
• embellishments

The completed box measures 4-5/8″ x 2-1/2″ x 5/8″
