Hand cream box featuring Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Hello and thank you for joining me.

Today’s box was inspired by a Cath Kidston hand cream I picked up in a sale recently. I loved the pretty flowers and tried to do them justice…

I started with some Pool Party card that measures 8 & 3/4 inches by 7 & 1/2 inches. I score this as follows:

• On the long side at 3/4 inch, 3 & 1/4 inches, 4 & 3/4 inches and 7 & 1/4 inches
• On the short side at 1 & 1/2 inches and 6 inches

I then cut this using the following template

I added glue to the wedge parts and folded them in to form the base of the box.

I made my own ‘designer series paper’ using the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and the following inks onto Whisper White card

• Lovely Lipstick
• Pineapple Punch
• Bermuda Bay
• Pool Party
• Flirty Flamingo

It was very therapeutic to randomly stamp these pretty flowers and leaves to turn a piece of plan card into what I think is a very pretty design that compliments the gift inside the box.

I cut the this into 1 piece measuring 2 & 1/4 inches by 4 & 1/4 inches, 2 pieces measuring and finally 2 pieces measuring 2 & 1/4 inches by 1 & 1/4 inches.

I stamped It’s you day from the same stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink onto Whisper White card and cut it using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits dies and backed it with a larger rectangle cut from Pool Party card.

I used the Bitty Blooms punches on the same colours of card, with centres for the Pool Party flowers punched from Pineapple Punch card. You might also notice that I used one of these little flower punches to create a thumb notch to make it easier to open the box.
