Hello
One of the 3D swaps I showed you yesterday was this treat holder containing a chocolate lolly made by Nicky Keylock
It reminded me of one that my Stampin’ Up! mentor Sam Donald (Pootles Papercraft) made a while back so I’d like to credit both ladies for the inspiration for my variation..
I used a piece of the All Is Bright designer series paper measuring 6 x 6 inches and scored and folded at 2 and 4 inches. I glued the back 2 pieces together to create a tube.
I punched a hole for the ribbon using my Detailed Trio punch. It gives a nice oval slot that’s perfect for this purpose.
I wrapped some Whisper White classic weave ribbon around my chocolate bar then pushed it into the paper. When the treat is close to the bottom thread the ribbon through the holes. Pass 1 end out to the front and the other out to the back, making sure you don’t cross them over. Tie both ends in a knot a few centimetres from the top.
When you pull the ribbon up it will bring the chocolate with it. I love this easy mechanism!
I then just added some decorations to the front using the Merry Christmas stamp from the Better Together stamp set, which has so many sentiments for lots of occasions. I used Real Red ink onto Whisper White card. I used my Layering Circles framelits dies to cut the sentiment and a backing circle of Real Red card. I simply glued these both to the front of the treat holder.
I think these would look great as part of your Christmas decorations or you could even add numbers to the front and use them to give treats as part of an Advent calendar.
