Naturally Wonderful

2 Jul

As promised in yesterday’s post about the Designer Series Paper (DSP) promotion, today’s card uses one of the DSPs in the buy 3 get a 4th free offer.  I decided to use the Rooted In Nature stamp set and framelits for my card, but didn’t go with the Nature’s Poem DSP from the same suite – that wouldn’t be a challenge, would it?! Lol.  The Nature’s Poem DSP is in the offer though.

My card has DSP on it from the Tranquil Textures pack…

The Nature’s Poem DSP and Cardstock Packs include Soft Suede, but I chose to use Crumb Cake ink for my wood slice image so I wanted my DSP to have the same colour.  Crumb Cake is used in the Tranquil Textures pack and the Animal Expedition pack. Obviously the Wood Textures pack would have been another suitable choice for this card. All 3 are in the offer available from 1st to 31st July 2018 so if you bought them you’d get to choose another pack for free.

My card base is 14.5cm x 21cm Very Vanilla card, scored at 10.5cm to give a landscape tent fold.  I added a layer of Crumb Cake care measuring 14 x 10 cm and then my DSP that I’d cut down to 13.5 x 9.5 cm.

I added a length of Burlap Ribbon to the DSP layer.

I stamped the wood slice in Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla card and fussy cut it, as there’s no framelit for this stamp; but it’s super easy to do with our Paper Snips (and you could use a Layering Circle framelit if you really didn’t want to manually cut it out). I then added the You are wonderful stamp from the same set in Black Stazon ink to the wood slice.

The framelits include dies that just emboss and ones that cut.  I used both on the embossing ones first on Crumb Cake card and then used the matching ones to cut them out.  I also stamped some leaves, again using Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla card then cut them using the same framelits.

I glued the leaves to the card and then added the wood slice using dimensionals.  Finally, I stamped 2 leaves on the inside but I stamped them off on a piece of scrap paper first so that they’re lovely and light.

I hope you like the natural look of this stamp set combined with the natural tones of the products I’ve used.  I’ve listed all of the products below and you can click on any of them to visit my online Stampin’ Up! store.

Thanks for reading and until the next time,

Happy crafting!
