Stitched Stocking card – The Project Share Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the September 2026 Project Share Project blog hop. Our fabulous little group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators create a project for a monthly Blog Hop. Our theme this month is Monochrome. I had a look through my designer series paper stash for a monochrome design and found a Secret Sea and white design which inspired this Stitched Stocking card…

ABOUT MY PROJECT

The paper is from A Stitched Season, so using the coordinating Stitched Stocking stamp and dies bundle was an obvious move. I die cut the patchwork style stocking from Basic White card then stamped some of the panels with Secret Sea ink. I love all the choices of patterns you can use with this stamp set. To make sure I only got ink on the bottom sections, I folded over the top part – that’s much easier than masking!

The top part of the stocking and the little star insert were die cut from Secret Sea card. To add a bit more detail so the top part stands out from the background paper, I added some faux white stitching with my gel pen. This can take a bit of time to dry but you can speed the process up with your heat tool. A little bit of white ribbon and a shimmery white button finished the stocking off…

Then I stamped a sentiment from Stitched Stocking with Secret Sea ink onto Basic White card and backed it with Secret Sea card. I added some white twine to the card and then put the sentiment over it with some dimensionals…

I like that the monochrome look makes it look clean and simple but there are quite a few bits of detail and dimension when you look closer.
