Prairie Grass sympathy card – The Project Share Blog Hop – August 2025

Hello and welcome to the August 2025 Project Share Project blog hop. Our fabulous little group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators share each others projects every Thursday and also create a new project for a monthly Blog Hop. Our theme this month is to use this card layout as our inspiration…

And here’s my Prairie Grass sympathy card using this template…

ABOUT MY PROJECT

My first step was to cut a circle in a piece of scrap card with my 1-3/4″ circle punch. I used this to add some Darling Duckling ink to a piece of Very Vanilla card with a blending brush. Then I removed my stencil and replaced it with a 1-3/4″ circle of masking paper on the yellow ink. The next step was to add Peach Pie ink to the Very Vanilla card piece, followed by Timid Tiger ink closer to the sun. Finally for this piece I stamped that gorgeous grass image with Secret Sea ink.

My card base is Very Vanilla, with a layer of Secret Sea and a layer of Very Vanilla. I added 3 narrow strips of Secret Sea DSP from the 2025-2027 In Colors pack. Then backed my inked and stamped panel with Secret Sea card before adding it on to my card base. The sentiment is also from the Prairie Grass stamp set and again I used Secret Sea ink. The final touch for the card front was to add some Low Profile Sparkling Dots in Darling Duckling.

As I have quite a few layers on the card front, I also added some to the inside to balance it out. So, of course I had to add some more stamping and ink blending, just using the remaining ink on my brushes…

I enjoyed using this card template and may use it again in the future. It’s always useful to have interesting layouts to refer back to when your inspiration is low.
