Softly Stippled cards

February 20, 2024

20 Feb

Hello! Yesterday evening I felt the need to be creative, just for the relaxation of it. Lately, I’ve been doing tutorials, blog hops, challenges, class prep and making boxes for a family event. So this time, I took my time and made two Softly Stippled cards. Here’s the first one…

I used the Softly Stippled designer series paper for the background and the flowers. This is one of the Sale-A-Bration products you can earn for free with a qualifying order up until 29 February 2024. Get it while you can! It’s really pretty but also has some more neutral designs like the ones I used for the background.

ABOUT MY CARDS

I actually took my inspiration from page 64 of the January to April 2024 mini catalogue. The card there has a background of embossed card and DSP in a similar layout. It also features the Stippled Roses bundle that coordinates beautifully with the Softly Stippled paper pack.

I cut 2 pieces of the paper to the same measurements as my white card base. Then I stacked them together and cut both of them at the same time, along a diagonal. No measuring required. This way, I could mix and match the pieces and they’d fit perfectly.

I fussy cut the roses from the DSP and coloured them with Watercolor Pencils, using Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green and Old Olive. A Blender Pen smoothes out the colour beautifully!

I had a narrow piece of Basic White card on my desk so added that across the join of the 2 papers. Then I cut two 2″ circles of vellum and added them either side of the line. I popped the flowers up with dimensionals…

And of course I had to add a bit of bling with the In Color dots.

As I had 2 more cut pieces of the DSP to play with, I fussy cut and coloured more flowers to create this second card…

This time I glued the flowers down and popped the sentiment circles up with dimensionals. The sentiments for both cards are from the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set. This is another Sale-A-Bration freebie you could choose with a qualifying order up to 29 February 2024.

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards as much as I enjoyed making them – just for fun!
