Hello! I hope you are well. This week’s Creative Colour Challenge was initially a tough one but eventually my creativity sparked off and resulted in this Softly Sophisticated tartan card…

about my CARD
I thought the Night of Navy and Garden Green would look good as a kind of tartan pattern, or plaid if you prefer. So I dug out my Artistic Mix decorative masks and blending brushes to add the green with the smaller checks first and then the navy over the top. I will admit that it took a fair bit of Night of Navy ink to stop the larger squares looking more like Pretty Peacock!
The card base is Basic White Thick card and then I added my tartan card to a Garden Green layer. Before adding these to the card base I wound round some glittered ribbon and secured the ends to the back. I tied an extra piece of the ribbon to the horizontal one, in a knot.
The flower and sentiment are from the Sale-A-Bration free bundle called Softly Sophisticated. The stamp set comes with a gorgeous embossing folder, but I resisted the temptation to use it today. These products can’t be purchased but can only be earned for free with a qualifying order of £90 or more, up until 29 February 2024. Please get in touch if you’d like more information on this promotion.
I stamped the stems and leaves with Garden Green ink, the flowers with Pumpkin Pie and the sentiment with Night Of Navy. I cut this with a Deckled Rectangle die and backed it with a larger Deckled Rectangle cut from Night of Navy card. This piece was added over the ribbon with dimensionals…
The final touch was some gold sequins, to match the glitter in the ribbon.
I hope you like my Softly Sophisticated tartan card with this week’s colours. Why don’t you see what you can make with these colours and join in the fun?
