Layered Florals card – Creative Colour Challenge 122

Hello! I hope you are well. I can’t believe that I missed the past 2 Creative Colour Challenges – life has just been so busy and my energy levels haven’t kept up with demand! Lol. I wasn’t going to miss another one so here’s my Layered Florals card for this week’s challenge…

about my CARD

I’ve seen lot os gorgeous cards using this Layered Florals 3D embossing folder from the brand new January to April 2024 mini catalogue but this was my first chance to play with it.

I made my card base with Moody Mauve card and cut a layer of Crumb Cake to emboss with the Layered Florals folder. Then I selected a section of the folder that I wanted to highlight and embossed scraps of Moody Mauve and Pretty Peacock card in that area. Next I did a bit of fussy cutting to give me a Moody Mauve flower and some Pretty Peacock leaves to add on top of the same areas of the embossed Crumb Cake layer.

This was also my first time using the new Pretty Peacock metallic ribbon and it’s gorgeous! I used Tear & Tape adhesive to glue the ribbon down, securing one end to the back of my Crumb Cake layer and then I frayed the other end…

Before I added the layer to my card base I thought it needed a bit more detail, so I added some Crumb Cake ink to the edges and raised areas. It really helped to make the embossed flowers stand out. Then I added some Moody Mauve dots for a bit of bling.

My sentiment is from Gorgeously Made and so I used the same stamp set to add a bit of detail to the Very Vanilla layer I added to the inside…
