Thinking Of You card – InspireInk Blog Hop

Today I’m taking part in the InspireInk blog hop for September 2023, with my talented Pootlers team mates. This month we have a colour challenge and I’ve used this palette to create a Thinking Of You card:

I started off by inking up a clear block with Gorgeous Grape ink, spritzing it with water and ‘stamping’ it onto a piece of Basic White card. Then I cleaned my block and repeated this process with Pumpkin Pie ink, slightly overlapping with the purple ink. Once it was dry, I added some orange ink over the purple with a blending brush and purple ink over the orange. I spritzed the piece with some water to get that speckled look. Once again, I had to set it aside to dry before die cutting with a circle and stamping the reeds from the Oceanfront stamp with black Memento ink.

My sentiment is from Go To Greetings and again I stamped with Memento ink. This time I cut it with a banner die from Stylish Shapes.

I toyed with the idea of what card colour to use for the background but decided on the Basic Black to make the coloured circle really pop!

To add some texture I embossed the Basic Black card with the Timeworn Type 3D folder…

My final touch was to add some Sparkle gems

MEASUREMENTS

My card base is Basic White Thick card measuring 5-3/4″ x 11-1/2, scored on the long side at 5-3/4″. The Basic Black layer measures 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ so there’s a nice thick white border showing. The circle is approximately 3″ in diameter.
