Hello, I hope you are well.
These are the colours for the latest challenge over at www.creativecolourchallenges.blogspot.com
Please CLICK HERE to find out more about this challenge and to join in the fun with this week’s 3 colours.
I wanted to have a first play with the new Everlasting Beauty stamp set and thought it would look lovely with Mossy Meadow and Melon Mambo. I wasn’t sure how to incorporate the blue though. Also, I don’t have Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends as it’s not my favourite shade of green and I’ve got 5 other sets of green blends.
So I decided that I would use water painters with diluted inks to colour my stamped image and then add some blue around it. It didn’t go entirely to plan and I wasn’t happy with the blue so I went totally rogue and tore around the image to remove the bits of blue that were too splodgy and then created this card with it…
My card base is Basic White Thick card measuring 29 x 10.5 cm, scored & folded at 14.5 cm. I cut a piece of vellum to measure 10 x 14 cm and then embossed it with the Painted Posies 3D folder.
I stamped the sentiment with Balmy Blue ink onto a strip of white card and cut the ends of it with the Happy Labels Pick A Punch…
I added the stamped piece and the sentiment onto the velum with dimensionals and added glue to the back of the vellum under those pieces so that the glue would show through. I curled the top corder of the vellum a little, to tie it in with the rough edges of my stamped piece.
Finally I added some Balmy Blue gems from the Iridescent Pastel Gems pack.
I hope you like what I created with this week’s colours. Why don’t you see what you can make with these colours and join in the fun?
