Abigail Rose DSP coloured with Watercolor pencils

Hello!

Today’s card is the result of me giving myself a time out! I had a whole lot of stuff on my To Do list and not enough energy to do it all. So I decided that instead of getting myself stressed out about it all, I’d allow myself to step away from it for a little while to reset and recharge my batteries. Off to the craft room I went, pulled out a piece of the retiring soon Abigail Rose designer series paper and grabbed my pencil case full of Watercolor pencils and a Blender pen. Sometime later, this was the result…

The paper measures 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. I’m not entirely sure which pencils I used as I was in the zone and just picking up whatever I liked the look of. I do know there’s Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and every green I have! Lol.

I mixed up the greens on some leaves and I used a combination of reds on some of the flowers too. You don’t have to stick to one colour at a time as the Blender Pen will combine them for you.

Here’s a close up of the original card…

My card base is Basic White Thick card (21 x 14.5 cm, scored & folded on the long side at 10.5 cm). My Basic White card layer was embossed with the Timeworn Type folder and measures 10 x 14 cm. I used Old Olive card for the foliage die cuts and coloured the flowers and leaves with Old Olive and Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is stamped with Night Of Navy and Blackberry Bliss ink.

I added my coloured paper to a card base made with Daffodil Delight card measuring 11-1/2″ x 5-3/4″, scored & folded on the long side at 5-3/4″. This card will easily fit into a 6″ x 6″ envelope.

I stamped the happy birthday from Very Best Occasions with Gorgeous Grape ink onto Basic White card and cut the ends with the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. I backed this with a piece of Daffodil Delight card that I’d also cut the ends with the same punch, but the other side, so the cut patterns are different.

I added a panel of Basic White card to the inside measuring 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ with a strip of the other side of the paper I used for the card front, measuring 1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and stamped a second sentiment…

I hope you like today’s card and will give yourself some time out to colour and relax sometime soon too.
