Hello everyone.
Today I’m taking part in the InspireInk blog hop for January 2023, with my talented Pootlers team mates.
This month our theme is New Year, New Project. So I set about using a combination of a new bundle, new designer series paper and an old(er) embossing folder to create this card…
The bundle I used is Beautiful Thistle. I stamped 1 large and 2 smaller thistles with Stazon ink onto Shimmery White card, coloured them with Watercolor Pencils then die cut them. I used a combination of Garden Green, Old Olive and Granny Apple green and then Gorgeous Grape and some Cherry Cobbler. My Blender Pens smoothed out the colours.
The wood effect designers series paper is from the By The Bay pack. Always check out the ‘B’ sides of our fabulous double sided papers as you’ll find lots of really useful designs.
My card base is Basic White Thick card and I added a panel of Sahara Sand card over the DSP that I’d embossed with the Hive 3D folder and added a little bit of Sahara Sand ink with a blending brush…
I curled the edges of the thistle leaves with a bone folder and popped the top parts up with dimensionals and glued the bottom of each die cut straight onto the embossed card layer.
The sentiment is from Beautiful Thistle and I used Gorgeous Grape ink on Shimmery White card, cut it with a Deckled Rectangle die and inked the edges with Sahara Sand ink too. I added this over the bottom of the thistle die cuts with dimensionals. The final touch was some Rustic Metallic dots.

Lovely card Heather. I do love a thistle, Ed & I have a game we play, who can be the first to spot a thistle and point it out to each other in a bad Scottish accent! It amuses us far more than it really should lol
