Hello, I hope you are well.
Sale-A-Bration is one of my favourite times of the year; well who wouldn’t like FREE products? Sometimes I have a hard time deciding which of the products I want first and I’ll be honest, the Day At The Farm designer series paper pack was not top of my list. It coordinates with the On The Farm bundle from the January to April 2023 mini catalogue but, as I don’t need to make many cards for little people, I knew I wouldn’t be buying that bundle.
However, almost every piece of Stampin’ Up!’s designer series paper is double sided. The exceptions tend to be specialty papers with lots of foiling or glitter etc. So I took a closer look at the ‘other’ sides and was convinced to select this free product.
I made a very ‘grown up’ card with these papers…
I used another one of my free Sale-A-Bration goodies for the sentiment. It’s a sentiment only stamp set called Sending Support. And I used another stamp from the set for the inside…
My card base is Sahara Sand card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. My main piece of Day At The Farm DSP measures 8 x 13 cm. I used Layering Circle dies with 2 more designs from the pack, as well as for my sentiment circles. This layout was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #567
I added some white crinkled seam binding ribbon and festive pearls to finish it off.
I then decided that I should show you the contrast by using the ‘cute’ side of some of the papers and here’s the result…
I used exactly the same layout but changed the card base to Basic White Thick card. I cut the number 3 with the new Alphabet A La Mode dies from a scrap of white card and added it to a circle of Garden Green card that I’d stamped with the Happy Birthday from the Something Fancy stamp set with Garden Green ink. The sheep and pigs were simply cut from one of the paper designs with a Layering Circle die.
I added the same ribbon but I’m always a little bit wary of adding gems to cards for very small children so instead I added a liberal amount of sparkle all over with my Wink Of Stella pen…
So, I hope this reminds you that even if you’re not initially keen on a themed pack of paper, you can always use the flip side!
