30th Birthday card featuring Playful Alphabet dies

Hello!

Today’s blog is a little bit different from my usual blog as I’ve used some retired favourite Stampin’ Up! products for this card. Today is my best friend’s son’s 30th birthday and I used a very familiar road sign around Edinburgh as my inspiration for his card to celebrate the end of his 20’s…

I used Basic Black, Basic White, Basic Gray and Real Red card stock for this design and it’s A5 sized so that I could fit in all the details. The bottom section features the Playful Alphabet dies and our Layering Circle dies too. The top section uses the long retired Large Numbers and unfortunately our Layering Circles weren’t big enough so I had to dig out an alternative.

The 30 sign is raised up with dimensionals for a bit more dimension…

I also used some of my Stampin’ Up! supplies to make my first ever cake topper with my Scan N Cut…

I added adhesive sheets to the back of Basic White Thick card to cut the sentiment. I then cut it again from some retired red glimmer paper – which doesn’t shed glitter so doesn’t foul up your machine! I also cut an outline of the sentiment from our super strong Window Sheet and glued the layers together.

Now this topper wasn’t for just any old cake, it was for a booze one…

The bottom tier has 12 cans of beer, the middle has 8 bottles of beer and the top has a bottle of flavoured gin! I did add in some limes to go with the beers, lol.

The colours I used are those of his beloved football team.

We all had the most fabulous time at his surprise party on Saturday night and I’m sure the family will all have fun continuing the celebrations today!

I’ve listed the current products I used for today’s projects below. You can click on any of the links to visit that item in my Stampin’ Up! online shop.

Happy crafting,

Thank you so much. The card turned out well & my son loved it. I changed it to a slimline card as I didn’t have the same dies as you, but it worked beautifully. Our family was delighted with the novelty idea of the 20’s ending & the 30 zone beginning. Thank you for your inspiration 😃
