Lego Inspired birthday card

Hello

It seems that Lego has invaded my life these past few months, as I bought quite a lot of it for Christmas gifts for the young and young at heart in my world, and my husband is currently working on a Space Shuttle! I even made a small set myself recently as I felt like I was missing out, lol.

I definitely prefer to pass my time making cards, but to continue the trend I thought I’d make a Lego inspired card…

My card base is bigger than my normal as I wanted decent sized bricks on it. It is Basic White card measuring 10″ x 7″; scored and folded on the long side at 5″.

I used Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody and Pacific Point card which are all part of the Brights colour collection, so you can purchase all of the 10 colours in the collection in one pack of card. My small bricks measure 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ and the larger ones are 1-3/4″ x 1-1/4″. The circles on the bricks are all 1/2″; I used a long retired 1/2″ circle punch.

I used sponge daubers to add colour to the edges of each brick and all the circles that was the same colour as the card. Each circle was added to the bricks with a mini Stampin’ Dimensional. Finally, I added a little ‘shine’ with a white gel pen…

I arranged my bricks into a 6 but you could change the bricks into any digit. In fact I should have made a 5 as that’s how old my friend’s grandson was recently and I got it wrong! Thankfully, I realised before I gave him the card so I now just need to keep it safe until next year, lol.

I stamped the sentiments straight onto the card base using Pacific Point and Poppy Parade ink – that was a nervous moment! Both are from the Happiest Of Birthdays stamp set.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this bright & fun card.
