A Friends Are Like Seashells card tutorial with texture and shine

Hello, I hope you are well.

I love the beach, even a Scottish one in the wind and rain, lol. I have so many lovely memories of collecting seashells and making sandcastles. Today’s card features the type of shell I’d love to find to see if there was anything living inside…

This looks like a pretty simple card but there may be more involved in making it than you might think. Check out this video to find out…

Here are my measurements for the card layers:

  • Basic White Thick card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm
  • Crumb Cake card measuring 7 x 10.5 cm
  • Basic White card measuring 6.5 x 10 cm
  • Basic White card scrap for the sentiment
  • Basic White card measuring at least 7 x 9 cm to die cut the shell

Here’s the Balmy Blue version I made in the video…

And here’s the two versions together…

My original used Pool Party ink and Stampin’ Blend to colour the ribbon. Which do you prefer?

I absolutely love the effect of the distressed ribbon and linen thread on these cards…

I hope you’ve enjoyed these cards as much as I enjoyed making them!

When you shop with me I’ll send you a handmade card and gift as a token of my appreciation. If your order is under £150 please use my current Host Code so that I can add a free Stampin’ Up! product to your customer thank you pack for the month. Find out more in the Host Code page in the main menu.
