Watercolour background Thank You card

Hello everyone.

I had a whole lot of inky fun making today’s card…

To make this fun background I used a piece of Fluid 100 watercolour paper that I misted with water and then added splodges of Magenta Madness, Gorgeous Grape and Merry Merlot inks and moved the inks around with my Water Painters. You can get some lovely effects with this and every piece will be different from the last one.

I set this aside to dry while I made the other elements of my card.

My card base is Magenta Madness card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. I cut a piece of Basic Black card to measure 10 x 14 cm, then cut out various triangles with the Stitched Triangle dies before embossing with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder.

I added the sentiment to one of the triangles I’d cut out of the black layer with Versamark ink, added White Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it. The sentiment comes from the Art Gallery stamp set.

To assemble my card I added the watercolour layer to the back of the black embossed layer and then onto my card base. I popped the sentiment up with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added some Elegant Faceted Gems to finish it off…

I really like the combination of the black with the super bright Magenta Madness and the textures from the embossing folder and the watercolour paper. I hope you do too.
