Slimline birthday pop up card with Stampin’ Up! Dressed To Impress

Hello, I hope you are well. Today I’d like to show you the fun card I made for my niece’s 13th birthday recently…

It’s a slimline card that fits into a DL sized envelope. I used Flirty Flamingo card for my base, which measures 21 cm x 12 cm, scored and folded on one side at 10.5 cm. For the front I added a piece of Highland Heather card measuring 9 x 19.5 cm and a piece of Basic White measuring 8.5 x 19 cm. I used one of the Decorative Masks with Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather inks and my blending brushes to add some spotty detail.

I used the Playful Alphabet dies with Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather card for the letters and numbers. The lipstick, perfume bottle and flowers are all from the Dressed To Impress stamp set and cut with the All Dressed Up dies.

I added more of these details and my niece’s name to the inside…

And here’s a look at the pop up mechanism…

My lovely friend Jill of http://www.paperdaisycrafting.co.uk has a video tutorial for this type of pop up card that you can check out by CLICKING HERE Obviously the elements I wanted to pop up for my card were different sizes to Jill’s so I had to work out where I wanted to put them and decide where to make my cut lines. Also my card is much bigger than Jill’s one.

My Basic White card insert measures 20 x 20.5 cm, scored on the short side at 10 cm. I added a pencil line along the top piece 2 cm above the score line then made pencil marks at 4cm, 7cm, 8.5cm, 9.5cm, 11cm, 14cm, 15.5cm and 16.5 cm. I cut my lines and folded over every other section exactly the same way that Jill did in her video.

I stamped all the elements with Memento ink and coloured them with the Stampin’ Blends I’ve listed in my Products below. I’ve also added some Wink Of Stella to the perfume bottle lids and labels, because you’ll got to have some shimmer somewhere!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s fun card. Thank you to Jill for the tutorial on this type of card!
