Hello, I hope you are well.
I love stitched dies and as soon as Stampin’ Up! released their Stitched Triangles they went straight onto my shopping list!! Stitching around any shape looks neat but there’s just something extra special about the triangles in my opinion. So I used them to cut out various types and sizes of triangles in shades of blue for this birthday card…
I’ve combined the triangles with the Oval Occasions stamp set and the Double Oval Punch for the birthday sentiment and I really like the contrast between the shapes. I stamped the sentiment with Pacific Point and punched the larger oval from Misty Moonlight card.
My card base is Night of Navy card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5cm. I cut 2 pieces of Basic White card that each measure 10 x 14 cm, one for the front and the other for the insert.
My triangles are cut from Pacific Point, Night of Navy, Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight card. I also used the die that cuts out those patterns of triangles you see in the corners on the Basic White card – I haven’t added lots of little blue triangles, that’s the card base showing through. After die cutting I then embossed this panel with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.
Some of the triangles are glued to the white layer and others are on Stampin’ Dimensionals (or mini ones depending on the size) and the sentiment has been raised too, with pieces of crinkled seam binding ribbon coming out of the side…
I used the straight line of little triangles die from the set on the bottom of the insert piece and added some of the bunting in Night of Navy card too…
This is such a fun card and would work in so many colour combinations, which would you try first?
I’ve listed the products I used for today’s card below. The stamp set and oval punch are currently available separately but you can save 10% by buying them as a bundle. The stamp set doesn’t appear in the next annual catalogue so will retire at the end of the January to June 2021 mini catalogue. Thankfully the punch is in the annual catalogue.
