Cartoon strip birthday card using Playful Alphabet dies

Hello I hope you are well.

It was my nephew’s 16th birthday a few days ago and although this now means he’s not really a boy any more, he’ll always be a little boy in my heart! So I made him a fun boyish card…

I made a slimline DL sized card so that it had more of the cartoon strip vibe about it. I used Whisper White Thick card that measured 21 x 19.8 cm, scored and folded on the short side at 9.9cm.

I used my Layering Squares dies to cut 4 pieces of Playing With Patterns designer series paper to measure 2-1/4 inches square, or you could just use your paper trimmer. I cut one in half to add on at each end and trimmed any excess off.

I used the Playful Alphabet dies to cut the letters for each word with Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana and Poppy Parade cards. I added these to shapes I’d cut from Whisper White card using my Scan N Cut, but you could draw them and cut them with your paper snips. I arranged the letters onto the shapes and then added them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It was great not to have to line the letters up properly for a change! Lol.

The other words come from the Well Written dies and I cut the ‘th’ from the centre of a second ‘birthday’ die cut, all from Night of Navy card. The numbers are in the Playful Alphabet dies too.

I added a few of the Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana resin dots for a final touch.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this fun card and will try it out sometime too.
