Fine Art Floral thank you card – without flowers!

Hello, I hope you are well.

As much as I just love the beautiful flowers in the Fine Art Floral suite from the Stampin’ Up! January to June 2021 catalogue, I wanted to show that you can create projects with it that don’t include any flowers. Here’s my card to prove my point…

I used the Floral Gallery Dies to cut the words from both Pool Party and Night of Navy card and stacked them together, with a slight offset. The die from the set cuts the phrase ‘just want to say’ as separate words to you can use as many or few as you like. I added adhesive sheets to my card before die cutting to make my life a bit easier and probably less messy, lol.

The ‘thank you’ sentiment is from the coordinating Art Gallery set and is one of many sentiments that would work equally well with this card. You can buy the stamps and dies separately but if you buy them as a bundle you save 10%. Buying the bundle would also earn you a free Sale-A-Bration product if you buy before 28 February 2021.

My card base is Night of Navy card measuring 29 x 10.5 cm, scored and folded at 14.5 cm. I cut a piece of the Fine Art Floral designer series paper (DSP) and a piece of the Folded Garden designer speciality acetate to each measure 10 x 14 cm.

Here are my top tips for securing the acetate to the DSP without any glue showing (or using any specialist glue!)

  • glue your die cuts to the acetate first and then you can turn it over and add multi-purpose liquid glue to the back of the acetate in line with the die cuts
  • add tear & tape or a line of liquid glue on the back of the acetate in line with where you intend to put your ribbon
  • place the acetate on top of the DSP
  • secure the ends of your ribbon to the back of the DSP

Easy!!

I love the gold foiling on the acetate and the gold thread in the ribbon, they’re a great combination!

However, if you’re not a fan of gold then you might like to know that foiling on the reverse of the acetate is silver! Did you spot it in this photo?

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card. I have listed the products I used for this card below and if you’d like to purchase any of them, please just click on the link to pop over to my online Stampin’ Up! store.

If you have any questions about today’s project or about earning Sale-A-Bration free products please use the Contact Me form in the main menu to get in touch.

Happy crafting,

Heather x
