Emboss resist Beautiful Friendship card

Hello.

I had a little bit of a play with some heat embossing on Fluid 100 watercolour paper to create this pretty card with the Beautiful Friendship stamp set…

I stamped 3 of the floral stamps from the set onto Fluid 100 paper with Versamark ink, added White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it. I then spritzed the paper and diluted some Blushing Bride and Highland Heather inks which I then applied to the paper with Water Painter brushes. The heat embossed parts resist the ink, which is why the technique is called emboss resist.

When I started playing around with this I really had no idea what I was going to do with it but I like how it turned out. I trimmed the piece down to 10 x 14 cm and used one of the Curvy Dies to cut off the bottom section.

I made a card base from Blushing Bride card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. Before adding my Fluid 100 paper I added some of the gorgeous Blushing Bride and Whisper White twine that come together as the Snail Mail Twine Combo (product 1154579). This will be available in my online store from 5 January 2021.

I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set in the bottom left corner with Versamark, and heat set it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Finally I added some pearls around the sentiment.

I really like the way the embossing reflects the light and contrasts with the soft watercoloured background…

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card. I’ve listed the products I’ve used for this card (except the twine) below and you can click on any of these links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! store.

Remember, today is the last day to grab a bargain in the end of year sale…

Happy crafting,

Heather x
