A Beautiful Friendship birthday card and gift box

Hello.

Today’s project is one that was inspired by a card made by Donna at Taffy Crafting that in turn was inspired by one that our mutual friend Victoria of Vickie Lou Designs. We really all do like to Inspire Create and Share!

I made the card for a friend’s birthday as purple is her favourite colour. I had a small gift for her so I made a coordinating box for that too…

The card and box were created using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set, which was just perfect for the occasion. The sentiment on the card comes from the Fancy Phrases stamp set.

Unfortunately, I can’t share the dimensions of my box as I didn’t write them down and I’m writing this blog post weeks after gifting the box to my friend. However, I can tell you that it was a simple lidded box to contain a piece of jewellery…

I used Highland Heather card for the base of both the box and card and then added a layer of Blackberry Bliss on top.

I stamped the flowers with Highland Heather ink onto Whisper White card and the stamen and sentiments were stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink. The leaves were Pear Pizzazz.

I used the Story Label punch to cut the sentiment for the box and cut an extra one from Highland Heather card, cut it in half lengthwise and added it to the back of the stamped one. I added this onto a banner of Blackberry Bliss card and then onto the box lid.

It’s so nice to be able to make a gift box that is not only the perfect size for the gift but also a beautiful match to a very pretty card. These extra touches can make a difference to a little gift.

I’ve listed the products I used for today’s card below. You can click on any of the links to visit my online store at any time.

Heather x
