Hello.
Did you know that the week after World Card Making Day (which was 3 October 2020) is Card Sending Week? Well, you do now.
I’ve sent a few cards already this week as random smiles in the mail. I’ve been trying to pick appropriate cards from my stash but I thought it might be nice to design a new card too. And here it is…
I’ve used Very Vanilla, Shimmery White and Pumpkin Pie card along with the inks shown in the photo to create this card.
First of all I made my card base with Very Vanilla card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm; scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. I then cut 2 pieces of Pumpkin Pie card each measuring 10 x 14 cm plus a piece of Shimmery White and a piece of Very Vanilla that each measure 9.5 x 13.5 cm.
I added one piece of Pumpkin Pie and the Very Vanilla to the inside.
I used a make up blending brush to add the inks onto the Shimmery White layer…
I didn’t have to be too precise with this as most of it will be hidden! The Shimmery White just gives a very subtle shimmer effect on the final card.
I used a die from the Forever Flourishing set to cut out the leaves from the remaining piece of Very Vanilla. I had to remember to save the 3 little bits that would help the negative space to keep the shape of all of the leaves. I added the die cut layer onto the inked layer and then splashed it with some more Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody inks, using a Water Painter and some ink on a small clear block…
I added this onto the remaining Pumpkin Pie layer and then onto my card base.
Finally I stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner with Pumpkin Pie ink. This is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.
I will write this card and pop it in the post to another friend to round off this card sending week. I hope you’ll take some time to send a card to a friend too #makeacardsendacard #worldcardsendingweek2020
I’ve listed the products I’ve used for today’s card below. You can click on any of the links to visit my Stampin’ Up! online store. All of my customers receive a thank you pack but if your order is under £150 make sure you use the current Host Code so I can add in a little bit extra.
