Hello and Happy Birthday to ME!!
It only seems right to share a birthday card with you on my birthday. This one was very much inspired by a recent Fancy Fold blog hop and is called an ‘over the shelf’ easel card (no jokes about me being over the hill please, lol!)
This is how it looks folded up…
And when you open it on a flat surface…
But as the name suggests it’s designed to be displayed on a shelf. I wasn’t able to do this but used a box to show you the effect instead…
Isn’t that a lovely fold? I have to thank the lovely Dee Copus-Read of LadyDeeCrafts.co.uk for introducing me to this fold and for her fabulous tutorial that I followed to make my card. PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR DEE’S TUTORIAL
For my version I used Gorgeous Grape for my card base (Dee used White) and added a layer of Melon Mambo (Dee used Balmy Blue) and then added an extra layer with the Artistry Blooms designer series paper (2 pieces measuring 5″ x 5″ and 1 piece measuring 5″ x 2″)
I used Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo card for the daisies and I used both sizes of the Daisy punches. I added Crushed Curry resin dots to the centres of the small ones and a 1/2″ circle of Crushed Curry card on the large one. I used the sprig punch on Granny Apple Green card to add to the over the shelf section.
My sentiments are from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set and I inked the top parts with Gorgeous Grape and the lower parts with Melon Mambo, then stamped onto Whisper White card and cut them with the Stitched Rectangle dies. I popped the smaller one up by using the Foam Adhesive sheets cut to size to use as a stopper for the easel part of the card.
Dee also made a box for her card and you can see the blog for that by clicking here
I’ve resized Dee’s design for another card and I’ll share that along with a YouTube video tomorrow so I hope you’ll check that out too.
In the meantime, I’ve listed the products I used for today’s card below. You can click on any of the product links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop at any time. Remember to use the Host Code if your order is under £150 so that I can add an extra gift to your customer thank you pack. See the Host Code page in the main menu for more details.
Happy crafting,
