Hello, I hope you are well.
Yesterday morning I tuned into my friend Tricia Smith’s online card making class, where she was using up some scraps of designer series paper to add to her card fronts. You can check out the replay of Tricia’s class on YouTube by clicking here.
Tricia also runs craft challenges and the current one in her Facebook group is to create tags or bookmarks. So I used the inspiration from her class to create this bookmark for the challenge…
This does actually also continue my series of projects featuring Last Chance products from Stampin’ Up! as the Follow Your Art suite is retiring on 2 June 2020. These products are now on a ‘get it while you can’ basis.
I used Pacific Point card for the bookmark base. This measured 17.5 x 5 cm. I rounded the bottom 2 corners with the Detailed Trio punch and cut the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.
All of the pieces of patterned paper are from the Follow Your Art designer series paper and measure 5 x 1 cm each. This paper is now reduced to £6.45 for 12 sheets of patterned paper: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs
Each page is 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm)
I stamped the sentiment from the Host stamp set New Wonders as it just seems perfect for a bookmark! I used Pacific Point ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with the Pretty Label punch (also a Last Chance Product!). I cut another label from Crushed Curry card, cut it in half lengthwise and added it to the back of the stamped one.
I thought it needed a bit more detail so I embossed the top and bottom sections with the Scripty 3D embossing folder. Again this seemed the obvious choice for a bookmark.
Finally, I tied some Whisper White crinkled seam binding ribbon to the top of the bookmark to make it easier to find in your book.
These are so quick and easy to make and I hope you’ll give it a go, Why not join in with the challenge in the Crafty Stamping Club – Smithys Stampers Facebook group? #smithysstampers
