Purple Posy card for a sketch challenge

Hello everyone.

Once again, I joined in with Tricia Smith’s challenge over in her Facebook Group ‘Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations’ Here’s the sketch she gave us to work with this week…

I decide to be a bit of rebel and replaced the heart with a Pearlized Doily…

My card base is a piece of Purple Posy card that measures 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm to create a landscape tent fold.

I cut a piece of 6″ x 6″ Best Dressed designer series paper into 4 pieces that measure 3 x 10 cm and added them to my card base. I then added the doily to the centre of the card. I put a glue dot in the centre of the doily and used this to secure my loops of Silver Metallic Thread.

I stamped my sentiment from the Band Together stamp set using Highland Heather ink onto Shimmery White card and trimmed it to fit. I used the Triple Banner Punch to cut each end. I added this to the card with some Foam Adhesive Strip for a bit of dimension. Finally, I added rhinestones to the centre of some of the flowers on the designer series paper.

I like the combination of the shine of the doily and silver thread, the sparkle of the rhinestones and the shimmer of the sentiment. I hope you do too.

Following a layout like the one Tricia gave us is a great shortcut to making a card, especially if you’re feeling creatively challenged. However, it’s amazing the number of varieties that can be made by everyone taking part. We would love you to join in too! Let’s see what you create; by joining the group and adding your photos to the challenge album.

I have listed the products I’ve used for today’s card below. You can click on any of the links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop.

Happy crafting,

Heather x
