Crafty Stamping Club pop up box challenge

Hello everyone.

As you may have gathered I rather enjoy taking in part in Tricia Smith’s sketch challenges in her Facebook Group “Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations” and I actually inspired this week’s theme. I sent Tricia this card a while back, as I thought it was perfect for such a talented crafty lady…

I sent it to thank her for her lovely friendly group and her crafting inspiration. So it’s a little ironic that this inspired her to challenge the group to make a similar style of card that folds flat and pops up.

I obviously had to join in and made this Christmas version…

It’s a much more simplistic version with just the 3 snowmen popping up instead of all those crafty bits and bobs in my last version.

As always, I visited my friend Gez’s YouTube channel for a refresher on how to assemble the base for the card…

As I only have 3 snowmen I only needed 3 struts inside and I used strips of window sheet to attach the snowmen so they look like they’re floating.

I used the Let It Snow speciality designer series paper to cover the base. This design from the pack is really glittery.

I stamped my snowmen using the Snowman Season stamp set with Memento ink onto Whisper White card and cut them with the Snowman Builder punch. I then coloured them with Stampin’ Blends.

As with all alcohol markers the colour from the blends bleeds through to the other side so I punched extra pieces from more Whisper White card to add to the back. This also helps to reinforce the smaller parts like the arms.

The card does fold flat to fit in an envelope for 5 x 7 inch cards and there’s lots of space to write on the back panel.

I stamped the sentiments from the Snowman Season set with Real Red ink onto Whisper White card and trimmed the Merry Christmas ones to fit. I cut the Let It Snow with my layering circles dies, along with a larger scalloped one using the back of the designer series paper I used earlier.

I just had to add those sweet little mittens and a hat from the Let It Snow embellishment kit.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and will be inspired to have a go at making one of these fun cards too.

I’ve listed the products used below and you can click on any of the links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! store. I would love you to shop with me.

Happy crafting,

Heather x
